I began experimenting with different tones using the inking/removal of ink process. On some plates I would apply the ink heavily and take off more, or barely apply any ink and take off very little. I have grown fond of having a light grey tone in the back round of the print. They are not perfect, but progress is being made...
Seems like your getting close to the color of zinc with your plate tone. Or at least thats what it looks like on my computer. Keep experimenting!
